Irelands West Coast – A Hundred Thousand Welcomes

Céad míle fáilte! Thank you for popping by and spending time on our site. We hope that here you find useful information about the part of Ireland we so love.

The breath-takingly rugged Irelands West Coast sweeps from County Donegal’s Malin Head in the North down to Mizen Head in County Cork in the South. It meanders along the Atlantic through the dramatic, windswept counties of Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Limerick (kind of) and Kerry. We write about what we love living in this most spectacular Irish landscape.

Who We Are

We’re a couple who, after many years in Dublin, decided to up sticks and leave the Big Smoke (read Dublin) behind. We have always loved the West of Ireland. The unique combination of wild nature and vibrant authentic towns and villages has completely won us over. We had spent many a weekend and holiday here. So, eventually, we swapped our busy careers for a slower pace of life. For the fresh breeze off the Atlantic and for the raw, rugged beauty of the ocean coastline. We feel very lucky to now call a small part of Irelands West Coast our home.

Why Irelands West Coast Blog

We like sharing our passion for the West Coast. This site might become a friendly resource for tourists as well as locals, or it might remain our personal creative project. We set IrelandsWestCoast.com up because we hope that it will add a personal voice and a subjective view to many other tourism sites offering information on Ireland’s West Coast.

As we chose to live and work here (voluntarily), we write about places we have personally discovered and enjoyed. We share what we love in this most spectacular Irish landscape. And we hope you enjoy exploring it as much as we do.
